This is Tomomi from Kimono Time Yuu providing the kimono dressing experience in Yokohama.

I think the kimono is the traditional national costume of Japan and a part of the fashion. It is expressed that the wisdom that has been cultivated by ancestor. I think It is important for us to know tradition. But the fashion does not have a correct answer and the non-correct answer. I feel it is necessary for a kimono to have the both sides of following a tradition and making innovation.

By the way, do you know the difference between yukata and kimono? I want to give a quiz. Which do you think is correct?

I hold the lesson of yukata that had a good reputation last summer this year too. It’s Sunday, July 17. Please join us. After the lesson we go to the side of sea, we enjoy fireworks show having beer. It’s just Japanese summer that we enjoy fireworks show feeling the sea breeze in a yukata. I hope you enjoy this Japanese summer together.

 1.The lesson of yukata

(1) Date
Sunday, 17th July, 2016

 (2) Time
14:30-16:30 (Reception starts at 14:15)

 (3) Venue
Location is shown only to members.
It’s about 5 minutes on foot from Exit South 1 “Noge Chikamichi (underground street) “ in Sakuragicho station. Or it’s about 5 minutes on foot from Hinodecho Station. 

(4) Schedule
_Greeting from Kimono Time Yuu
_Self-introduction
_Yukata wearing lesson
_Recess during which you can freely take photographs
_Change your dress and method of folding a kimono, if you rent a set of yukata and obi 

(5) Fee
_The lesson fee included in a new yukata and obi is 12,000yen.
   When you buy a yukata and an obi from us, it costs 12,000 yen.
_The lesson fee included rental charges of a complete set of kimono used for this lesson is 6,000yen.
  When you rent a complete set of kimono used for this lesson, it costs rental charges of 6,000 yen. We use about ten items for this lesson.
_The lesson fee only is 3,000 yen. 
   Please bring your yukata, obi and so on, if you have them. You need to bring a yukata, a Hanhaba-obi, a Obijime(decorative string), two towels, a Rubber-belt, 3 Koshihimos(sashes), a Datejime(belt), a Obi-ita(under-obi). Please let us know early if you don’t have some items. You can rent one item at 200 yen or 500 yen.

2.The party to enjoy fireworks show

(1) Date
Sunday, 17th July, 2016
But, if it’s raining, the party will be canceled. We decide that by 10:00am in that day. 

(2) Time
18:30-20:30 (Reception starts at 18:15) 

(3) Venue
Location is shown only to members.
It’s about 12 minutes on foot from Sakuragicho station. Or it’s about 3 minutes on foot from Minatomirai Station. 

(4) Schedule
_Greeting from Kimono Time Yuu
_Self-introduction
   Please introduction yourself including your story about ‘Yukata’, ’Fireworks’ or ’Yokohama’
_ Quiz match in a team competition format. 
    If your team win, we present a small gift.
_Let’s drink and eat some Japanese food while watching the fireworks show 

(5) Fee
3,500yen, including some drinks and some food.
We will prepare 5 liters of beer, some oolong tea, and some foods. The food will be home-style Japanese meals, including, edamame(green soybeans), fried eggs, inarizushi (a kind of sushi made of deep-fried tofu stuffed with rice), fruits, little snacks and so on. But if you want to drink and eat something you like, please bring it.
